Pick Your Poison Removal


Hello, it's Nerina here! In this blog post, we're gonna talk about the changes in the poison curing abilities I've been working with this week. Previously, we've had remove poison and poison immunity at the same level, but after discussing it among the staff, we decided it'd be more fitting to have remove poison slightly lower level (available in secondaries) while poison immunity would be available only in the primary guilds. Thus, it was decided to lower the level of remove poison to 10, while poison immunity would become a lvl 15 ability, to reflect its position in the biomancer guild. We then had to adjust the level of weaken poison, which logically was dropped to lvl 5. The next task was to go through all the other poison curing abilities and adjust them to match.

Poison Ability Changes

Ability costs shifted to reflect their new relative power levels. We also made sure to take into account the impact of component requirements, alignment and similar mechanics that impact spell cost. The mechanics of a few abilities were changed slightly to match better with other members of the category. For example chi relaxation was upgraded to the same effect as weaken poison, cautery got upgraded to a remove poison effect and cleansing earth traded its 'rocky terrains' restriction to 'outdoors'.

While looking through the guilds to shift down the newly lower level poison abilities, I came across a prime guild spell that, for some reason, had too low a level marked for it. I fixed it while I was at it.

Isn't there something missing?

Is there something that escapes your notice? That's right: there is a single poison curing ability that didn't get an update this time. Brew milk drink is standing by, patiently waiting for the promised Druid updates. Don't worry folks, the druid changes are on their way, and brew milk drink will be updated as a part of them. Meanwhile, everything else concerning curing poison or poison immunity should now have their levels and costs comparable to other abilities with the same effect. I'm hoping this will make some of the less appreciated spells more useful. Until next time!
